Therapy for Parents, Children, Teens, and Adults
I provide therapy grounded in research and developmental psychology. My communication style is direct and supportive, and my work is shaped by each client’s curiosity and motivation for personal growth.
Who I Work With…
Parents
Parenting can be deeply rewarding and surprisingly difficult, sometimes in the same moment. You may be struggling to understand your child’s behavior, respond to intense emotions, navigate parenting disagreements, or figure out how best to help.
Parent consultation offers space to step back, understand your child’s perspective, and develop practical strategies that fit your family. Together, we can address frustrating patterns, build confidence, and navigate challenges at home or school. Sometimes working directly with parents is the most helpful approach. Other times, consultation helps us decide whether involving your child in therapy would be beneficial.
Children
Children don’t always have the words to explain what they’re feeling or why they’re struggling. Their difficulties may show up through worries, strong emotions, behavior, physical complaints, or challenges at home, at school, or with friends. I work to understand each child’s experiences and make therapy engaging and useful through conversation, play, creative activities, and practicing new skills.
Some children recognize that something is bothering them and are eager for help. Others come because an adult has identified a concern. In those situations, we first focus on understanding the child’s perspective and exploring how therapy might become meaningful to them.
Teens
I’ve always been particularly fascinated by adolescence. It’s a period of tremendous growth as teens develop their identities, navigate increasingly complex relationships, and seek greater independence while managing academic, social, and emotional pressures.
Some teens arrive knowing exactly what they want help with; others are less certain or have mixed feelings about therapy. I work to build a trusting relationship where teens feel respected and understood, while helping them develop practical ways to navigate challenges. When appropriate, I also support parents in navigating this fascinating and sometimes challenging stage while respecting their teen’s growing independence and privacy.
Adults
From the college years onward, adulthood brings changing responsibilities, relationships, and expectations. Whether you’re figuring out who you want to become, navigating work and family, or adjusting to a new stage of life, you may find yourself facing challenges that are difficult to manage.
Some people seek therapy because of a specific problem they want to address. Others have a more general sense that something isn’t working as they’d like, even if they’re not quite sure why. Our work offers space to better understand yourself and the patterns shaping your experiences, while developing practical ways to make meaningful changes in everyday life.
